The HabiStore is Habitat for Humanity Tucson’s home improvement outlet where you’ll discover something new and used every day.
The HabiStore- Habitat's retail outlet for used furniture, appliances, and supplies- keeps 1200 tons of materials out of landfills each year.
All sales directly support the building of additional energy-efficient homes in the community. The store utilizes photovoltaic systems and high-efficiency lighting to reduce electricity costs by 50%.
The HabiStore serves as a recycling hub.
The HabiStore serves as a recycling hub that helps people keep working, useable household items out of landfills. The store has upcycled materials for signage and displays. It also hosts workshops on repurposing items. Habitat Tucson is committed to building homes, community and hope. It offers an innovative solution to the problem of poverty in local neighborhoods by offering a hand up.

By incorporating the newest technologies – LED lighting, high-efficiency and recycled insulation product, smart thermostats and appliances – Habitat Tucson remains a forerunner in the fight to protect local and communal environments. We continue to improve building strategies that more efficiently use materials to further reduce waste. Habitat also provides opportunities to educate homeowners on the importance of stewardship in their neighborhoods and encourages the use of gray water and rainwater harvesting.
In 2015, Habitat Tucson won the BrightEE Award from Tucson Electric Power in the nonprofit category for adopting significant energy saving measures. TEP has also partnered with Habitat in an effort to provide new homes with solar arrays.
Additionally, Habitat homes are Energy Star rated, with Indoor airPLUS and WaterSense certifications – the EPA trifecta of high-efficiency building. Going green isn’t just something that Habitat for Humanity Tucson strives for, it’s part of our core philosophies.
